Crooked Creek Farms LLC

Crooked Creek Farms is owned and operated by Meredith and Casey McKissick, with "a little" help from their son, Cash.

We are located on approximately 32 acres in the Crooked Creek area of Old Fort, NC. We currently have 4.5 acres in organic production of mixed vegetables vegetable plants for your garden and cut flowers (see The Sweet Earth Flower Farm for details on our flower operation), and 23 acres of pasture in beef cattle and meat chickens. All of our vegetables are grown organically and all of our meat is hormone and antibiotic free. We sell all of our products through Foothills Family Farms and our CSA.

 Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscriptions for 2010

For 2010, we will be offering thirty  CSA shares with pick-ups available in Old Fort and Black Mountain. The 22 week program will run May through early October. A full family share (enough for 4 people) will be $595 and a half share (for an individual or couple) will be $375. You may choose to add half or whole pastured chicken shares ($138 and $72, respectively), or a fresh cut flower share for $138. We firmly believe that small farms working closely with local people is the way to create community food systems which are secure, profitable, and healthy for both people and the land.
