Peaceful Valley Farm

Peaceful Valley Farm is a beautiful family farm in the Crooked Creek Valley in Old Fort, NC. Owners John and Karen McEntire, along with their daughter Lindsay, have restored and nourished the original farmstead of John's family to inlcude an agritourism paradise. A visitor to Peaceful Valley Farm can see an antique corn mill, blacksmith shop, old schoolhouse, pottery studio, draft horses, wood turning, goats, llamas, and an array of antique frm equipment. Lindsay McEntire operates a farm store at Peaceful Valley, where visitors can purchase handmade gifts and farm products. The McEntires host regular field trips from area elementary schools, helping to educate local youth about rural lifestyles and the importance of farmland and farmers.

Regular Foothills Customers will remember delicious heirloom stone-ground grits and cornmeal that we featured at 2007 Foothills markets, all from Peaceful Valley Farm. The McEntires also offered stone ground wheat flour for a time, and after its popularity, we hope to continue offering it in the seasons to come. Also look for Peaceful Valley vegetables at future Foothills markets.

The McEntires host an annual farm field day, which draws over 500 particpants every fall. Hope to see you in 2008!
